What is the Garden at N’tona Surf Camp?
The garden is a unique green space in Imsouane — actually, the only one of its kind in the world. It was lovingly created by my father, and it brings a special soul to our surf camp. More than just a garden, it’s a family legacy where travelers can relax, connect with nature, and recharge between surf sessions.
When you step inside, you instantly feel the calm — a contrast to the vibrant energy of the waves just beyond. It’s a place that adds depth to the N’tona experience, reminding guests that balance is part of the surf lifestyle too.
Why did your father create the Garden?
He wanted to bring life, color, and calmness to Imsouane. Surfing is full of energy and movement, so the garden offers balance — a space of peace, beauty, and grounding vibes. It’s his way of giving something lasting to the surf and travel community.
For him, it was never just about planting greenery. It was about creating a sanctuary — somewhere people could pause, breathe, and appreciate the quieter side of coastal life.
What makes it so special?
It’s not just a garden — it’s the only one of its kind worldwide. Built with patience and love, it reflects both Moroccan roots and tropical inspiration. Mint, cactus, flowers, and local plants come together in harmony, making it a true oasis by the waves.
Every corner tells a story: the scent of fresh herbs, the sound of the wind through the leaves, and the sense that this place was made with intention. It’s a blend of art, culture, and care — something that grows more beautiful with time.
What happens in the Garden?
Guests use it to stretch, practice yoga, read, or simply enjoy a quiet moment after surfing. Sometimes we host small gatherings or music sessions there, but most of the time, it’s just a natural place to slow down and enjoy the beauty.
It’s amazing how quickly people find their rhythm here — whether they’re meditating at sunrise or sipping mint tea under the shade. The garden has a way of grounding everyone who visits.
How does it connect with N’tona Surf Camp?
The garden is at the heart of the N’tona experience. After surfing the longest wave in Africa, you can grab a coffee from Nos Nos, then unwind in this green space created by my father — a place that feels like home for everyone.
It’s where adventure meets calm, and where the spirit of N’tona truly comes alive. Many guests say it’s one of their favorite memories of Imsouane — the quiet moments between waves.
Our Unique Garden at N’tona Surf Camp
Right next to our surf camp, there’s a hidden gem: a garden carefully created and cared for by my father. It’s more than just a garden — it’s a place of calm, life, and connection with nature.
Here, you’ll find different herbs and plants growing under the Moroccan sun. My father planted two types of mint, both traditionally used to prepare Moroccan tea, along with other local herbs for natural infusions. Guests often enjoy walking through the garden, discovering the plants, and tasting the fresh leaves that bring so much flavor to our daily tea.
This garden reflects the spirit of Imsouane: simple, authentic, and deeply connected to nature. It’s one of those little details that make staying with us truly special.
Version Technique
In Imsouane, the soil is naturally sandy and not very fertile. Combined with the salty air from the ocean, this makes growing plants a real challenge. To overcome this, we enrich the ground with natural compost and organic matter, which helps retain water and gives the plants the nutrients they need.
We also use simple irrigation methods to keep the soil hydrated, especially during the hotter months. Thanks to this, herbs like mint, thyme, and other Mediterranean plants can grow beautifully, despite the difficult conditions.
It’s a mix of science and care — a reminder that even in tough environments, life can thrive when nurtured thoughtfully.
Version Poétique
In the dry, sandy soil of Imsouane, where the ocean breeze carries salt through the air, you wouldn’t expect a garden to flourish. But with patience and care, my father has turned this land into an oasis.
Little by little, he enriched the soil, watered it with love, and watched it come alive. Today, fresh mint for tea, thyme, and other herbs grow strong — a reminder that even in the toughest conditions, life can bloom when nurtured with dedication.
Every leaf, every scent, and every patch of shade tells the same quiet story — one of love, resilience, and the beauty of growth by the sea.
